Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 for the financial year ending 31st December 2024. It sets out the steps taken by John A Taylor and Sons Ltd to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.

John A Taylor and Sons Ltd is a UK-based food brokerage business, working with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors in the food industry. Our supply chains are primarily located in the UK and Europe.


2. Policies in relation to slavery and human trafficking

We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. Our policies include:

  • Ethical Trading Policy
  • Supplier Code of Conduct
  • Whistleblowing Policy

3. Due diligence processes

Our due diligence includes:

  • Supplier approval checks and risk assessments
  • Contractual commitments to comply with the Modern Slavery Act
  • Action plans for addressing non-compliance

We assess risks within our supply chains and prioritise higher-risk areas.

5. Key performance indicators (KPIs)

We monitor progress through:

  • % of suppliers providing compliance assurances
  • Reports received via whistleblowing
  • Staff training completion rates

6. Training on modern slavery and trafficking

Relevant staff receive training to identify and address risks.
